"Disappointed"

About: County Hospital / Accident and emergency

I went to the A&E on Wednesday 05.10.2018 with severe head pain , symptoms of sinusitis after fainting and being unconscious for few minutes. The receptionist and the triage nurse were very kind. Once i was send to the waiting room I waited for more than two hours. The issue was that patients who came after me, with minor injuries were seen before me. After asking them politely to be seen someone came to see me, but not the doctor who was on call. They admitted I need to see a specialist , but unfortunately it wasn’t possible because this is how the system works and I was send home .My condition has worsen since yesterday. I am truly sad to write this, but my whole impression was that I was treated differently just because i m not a British citizen, even if I m an UK resident, I work, live and pay taxes here. Of course there are very nice and dedicated people there, but there’s others who have to learn be human before anything else.

I am saddened to read of your experience of our A&E. As an organisation, we welcome all feedback whether positive or not so we can share and learn for the future. I will ensure your comments are sent to the A&E Management Team.

I would be grateful if you could contact our Patient Advice & Liaison Service (PALS) on 01782 676450 or via email to patientadvice.uhnm@nhs.uk to provide additional details of your experience and allow us to further investigate the issues you have raised.

With best wishes
