I attended my “implant removal” yesterday (4/10/18) intending to get my implant removed and remain on the pill until I got the depo injection, however I still have my implant in my arm as the woman (whom I sadly didn’t get her name) and can’t remember what consultation room it was either refused to take it out even though I am on the pill aswell which covers me. I was treat with disrespect as my friend was in the room the nurse did not maintain any form of confidentiality and continued to state in a judgemental manner that my weight was due to what I eat. She made remarks about my weight and continued to say “it’s not the implant it’s what you put in your mouth” which I found is so unprofessional for a healthcare “professional”. I felt embarrassed and at no point felt there was any care provided and as a 18 year old girl I find this extremely concerning as other people will be treat in this manner.
I would like to ensure this is raised with the appropriate management.
