I had a small key hole surgery and after waking up from it my right leg and foot was numb.
I was unable to walk, I told the staff straight away and it seem that they didn't know why it happened and after a while they told me to wait 24 hours. When I was dressing up a nurse came in to help me as I was unable to stand on my own feet. They dropped me on the floor saying "sorry I didn't realise that you can't stand on your feet" even though I told them that so many times. They send me home and it was so hard for my husband to get me out of the car, take me home as we don't have drive way.
Well after 24 hours nothing happened I was still in same condition, after contacting my GP I was told that they might have trapped my nerve on my leg while operating. I am still in the same condition after a month.
The only thing I am saying here is that they didn't took good care of me they didn't do much about it when I told them about my leg. I was the last one in there and all the staff just wanted to get rid of me but one of the nurse told me that they had never seen anyone with the numb leg after the surgery I had. They seem really surprised with my condition and was keep saying it shouldn't have happened.
I just want others to know that if something like that happens to you don't leave them ask them to get you somewhere else only for 24 hours to see if it will improve. It's really hard cause now there's me off work for whole month and unable to do any thing as well it's so frustrating and I am fed up of not being able to move. I hope it doesn't happen to anyone else.
