"Potential skin carcinoma removal"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Dermatology

(as a service user),

Referred by my dermatological nurse who on follow up examination to excision of carcinoma from hand, noticed a suspect growth on my face. Although by the time of my visit this growth had subsided the receiving surgeon examined me and decided to excise the growth and send sample for laboratory examination. The team were introduced and the procedure explained clearly before documentation was completed and the procedure undertaken. Throughout each member of the team were helpful, reassuring and attentive to my needs and concerns. The whole procedure was painless and I felt happy upon discharge that all had been and would be done to ensure my future health. I cannot praise the staff involved enough and would like to think that anyone else subject to their ministrations would also experience such good care.
