About: Cumberland Infirmary / Ophthalmology

Cataract removal.

Clear explanations of the drill.

Excellent lead nurse, two helpful theatre nurses.

Consultant quiet and clear with explanations of procedure.

Especially helpful was theatre nurse's explanation of what sensations patient would experience during the procedure.

Main disappointment was that I wasn't able to thank consultant afterwards.

I am very pleased you had such a positive experience and the staff will be delighted to hear how you appreciated their explanations about the procedure. The team work very hard to ensure patients (and their relatives) are comfortable as they fully understand how nervous and anxious patients can be when coming in for surgery.

We know that they work incredibly hard and they will be pleased to hear that this is appreciated by patients.

I am sorry that you were not able to thank the Consultant; it is most likely he/she was still in theatre with another patient whilst you were in recovery.
