What I liked
This was my grandson's 3rd stay since August 2011 - 99.9% of the medical staff were fab & lovely kind staff.
-but continuity of care is poor - so many different medical staff all asking the same questions over and over makes you feel very insecure as to whether any one person really knows much about your condition (which shows on the medical notes as incorrect info is written down)
Infection control is poor - out of 10 would rate 1- Hand gel is in place and used but is a very tiny part of infection control - beds are far to close for people with different virus's and thus infection is passed from person to person. On my visits (3 days each time ) floors were dry mopped only - half heartedly - I never saw any surfaces wiped of cleaned by cleaning staff . when a patient was discharged the bedding was taken off and one side of the rubber pillow wiped with a wipe and the top side of the mattress wiped. - what about all the bed guards/rails/ tables/chairs/curtains/medical equipment etc !!!!!!!! - if my house was cleaned like this I would sack the cleaner - come on NHS - expensive ads have been aired on TV about Swine flu infection control - so start taking your own advice !
What could be improved
