On 29 August I fell whilst out walking
I was taken to A&E where I was triaged very quickly
I then was quickly seen by a senior doctor in a bay near the front of the Emergency Department and given pain relief
I was referred for an
X-ray and then seen by an orthopaedic specialist who took great care to exlain the nature of my broken humerus, the treatment required and the necessity of being careful in order to prevent further damage
During the night I got out of bed to visit the bathroom and briefly collapsed. My husband and daughter were with me and it was thought that it had been a simple faint due to the stress and the pain and that I could wait until the morning
I was referred back to the hospital in the morning for an investigation, great care was taken to investigate the possible cause and to ensure that all necessary tests were made including a call back on the third morning to check v on my apparent anaemia
I don’t live in Brighton, the medical team ensured that all information was passed on to a hospital in London for my continuing care
I would like to say how impressed I was with ALL the staff
Although all the departments were extremely busy, at all times I was made to feel safe and well cared for, with staff constantly checking that all was well
