About: New Victoria Hospital / Elderly Medicine (Ward 1 and 2)

(as a relative),

Big thank you to Dr Campbell and all the team at Ward 2 for the care and attention given to dad when he was in the Unit, after transfer from QEUH. Thanks to Collette and AHP team for the rehab support while in the ward, and organising discharge ( and all our phone calls when mum was looking for constant reassurance) . The ward was very clean and orderly. The banter between staff/patients and relatives seemed just right balance : professional and light hearted – good for mental health which was part of rehab. Having another older relative in another unit I unfortunately have had the chance to compare. Well done Sister Gallagher – your leadership in the ward was excellent , team were great – and that is how care should be.... and can be.

I will ensure that your kind comments are shared with everyone who looked after your father; staff will be pleased to know that they made a difference to him and his family. It is lovely to hear that you felt that your father was in a positive and uplifting environment and I am glad that staff were able to give reassurance to his family.
