Elderly gentleman admitted due to collapse, high heart rate low blood pressure,
Admitted to A&E, then transferred to the frailty assessment unit for investigation, all seemed well until getting ready to discharge then he had another turn, told he would be kept in to be monitored, however a few hours later got the call to say he's being discharged as he'd been ok with no other episodes, but no explanation to what the cause was.
We considered refusing to have him home until they had investigated why this was happening only to be threatened with being reported to social services for him to be put on an at risk list by a staff member, he is NOT at risk we want the best possible care for him and if keeping him in hospital to find out what's causing the problem that should be priority but NO.
Also on a previous occasion was told by a ward sister on A4 that if the patient returns again they would consider withholding treatment.
We have had nothing but problems with this hospital every time we've needed to use the service
Warrington Hospital treat patients over a certain age as BED BLOCKERS, this place is a disgrace and some of the staff are so uncaring they shouldn't be in the job they are.
