"So pleased I joined this practice"

About: Mountwood Surgery

Best practice I have encountered in my 70+ years and my wife feels equally strongly. Neither of us have not been able to see a doctor at short notice albeit a couple of times we have undergone a triage discussion with the senior nurse. My wife saw a junior doctor (registrar) at short notice who was not sure about a mark on my wife's face and got one of the senior partners to take a look and he sent her to be seen quickly and it was a treatable cancer - this I found as a positive rather than a negative i.e. you can not always choose who you want to see at short notice but their system works well. I am far more likely to have to see a nurse for treatment and I have found their service to be excellent, putting themselves out by seeing me in their own time when I needed to be seen. There have over the years at the Mountwood Surgery location been good improvements with the systems they use; general efficiency and helpfulness of their administration staff. I was recommended to join Mountwood (in grounds of Mount Vernon Hospital) by a friend soon after it opened and have been so glad that we did, The only minor downside is that being in hospital grounds that members of the public try to make use of the surgery car park, which hopefully will dissipate with proposed legislation i.e. cutting the charge of parking at hospitals. I have never had to wait for more than a few minutes to get parked in a free car park - unlike other surgeries in our area.

Other than that, the only downside was when I suggested to my wife that we downsize our home and she refuses to move out of the surgery catchment area...and I agree!
