"Not good enough."

About: West Cornwall Hospital (Penzance)

Anything else?

Brought my husband here just before 10.00pm . He was bleeding and feeling very weak after having had a toncillectomy two days before at Truro.

I had phoned Truro and described his symptoms and they advised me to take him straight to my nearest A&E which was PZ.

Made to feel like we were wasting there time and this bleeding was quite normal, with little kindness offered despite both of us feeling very scared. No doctor was on hand to examine him.We were told we could wait to see him (when he was available) or go up to Truro. We quickly decided Truro was the only place we were going to get any help.We were told it would be a two hour wait for an ambulance to take him or I could drive him there.I said I would take him but before they let me they wanted to take a blood count because 'if he collapses in my car it wouldn't look good for the PR of the hospital'.

Its a good job we did go to Truro as the bleeding got much worse and he has now had another operation to stop the bleeding.

Wish I had just taken him straight there in the first place.
