"My overall experience was an extremely positive..."

About: Russells Hall Hospital

What I liked

Despite my anxiety my visit to the hospital was an extremely positive experience from the start due to the helpful and caring nature of all the staff with whom I came into contact. While looking lost in a corridor a friendly member of staff recognised my predicament and went out of her way to point me in the right direction.

My treatment by each member of the ENT team including audiologist, student doctor, nurse and consultant was professional, supportive and warm and a very evident team spirit prevailed amongst the professionals.

My husband who accompanied my was also made to feel welcome and supported.

What could be improved

Nothing

Anything else?

Whilst undergoing clinical tests and procedure I felt nervous but confident in the very capable hands of a consultant who took care to keep me informed in a professional but warm and friendly manner and by the presence of a nurse who supported kindly at every step of the way.

When the procedure was complete the consultant even grabbed my husband's newspaper to explain to us in diagram and notes what had happened and what was to be the follow-up treatment.

I did not feel the presence of a student doctor was intrusive, on the contrary the consultant's explanations to her were helpful also to me.

My sincere thanks are due to all of the hospital staff.
