"Kilbryde Hospice"

About: Kilbryde Hospice / Inpatient Care

(as a relative),

Following a sudden illness our lovely Mum was transferred to the newly opened ward at the Hospice. Despite this being a hugely sad & emotional time for our family, all the staff (medical & admin) made the time we spent there so much easier.

It was clear to see from the outset that Mum was receiving wonderful care from simply some of the most compassionate people we have ever met. Nothing at all was too much trouble for anyone at the Hospice. Throughout her 3 weeks there, Mum was treated to the hydrotherapy pool, hand/foot massages & had the pleasure of seeing the lovely Shetland ponies, which she adored. All of this kept Mum comfortable & relaxed during a very difficult time. We often walked in to hear the medical staff chatting to Mum about some of things she loved, e.g. the Royals, Elvis & her own family. All this helped Mum feel more at ease & we cannot thank the staff enough.

Even after Mum passed the, personal touches the staff laid out in her room were so touching & truly beautiful.

The Kilbryde Hospice & all the staff/volunteers will remain in our hearts always & we will be forever grateful for the loving care & attention they gave our Mum in her last days.

Dear JBL

Thank you for taking the time to write to us during this sad and emotional time. Your Mum was one of the first inpatients admitted to Kilbryde Hospice therefore to receive this positive feedback about the care she received is very encouraging for me as the Clinical Services Manager and the extended Inpatient Unit Team. I'm pleased that your Mum was able to benefit from the variety of services we have on offer here at Kilbryde ( even our visiting Theraponies) and that your Mum was given the opportunity to talk about the things she loved.

I will ensure that all staff members are aware of this post so they receive your thanks. Thank you for taking the time to post this publicly as this is of great benefit to us. Please take care of yourself in these early days following your Mums death and if we can be of any other assistance please do not hesitate to contact us here at Kilbryde.

Kind regards

Margaret Mary Cowan

Clinical Services Manager

Update posted by JBL (a relative)

I would be hugely grateful if you can pass this on to all staff who help Mum & our wider family throughout. They were all absolutely superb & themselves the best advert for your wonderful facility.

I am grateful that you have taken the time to share this thoughtful review. We strive to ensure that patients and their families have a positive experience of our care. It means a lot to us and I know our team within the In-Patient unit are humbled by your kind words. It is lovely to read about the care your mum received and how much more at ease mum was through this.

If there is anything more we can do for you or your family, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
