"A very long visit to the clinic"

About: BPAS Streatham CC/Clinic

Told to arrive at 8.00 am and the procedure would last about 4 hours.

After a 6 hour drive we arrived at 8.15 am. Staff were aware of our long journey. 1st procedure given at 10.00 am and told this would take 2 hours to work. At 12.00 pm we asked if the operation would be soon to be told 'it would be at 2.00 pm', when asked why the delay we were told 'well, the staff have to have a lunch'.

We asked if we could get a drink or food anywhere around and was told 'you will have to go down the High Road'.

Not once did anyone come to explain the delay or to enquire on the progress of the treatment given.

At 4,00 pm, we found out, in the recovery ward there was a drinks machine and a water dispenser.

We had spent 8 hours with nothing to drink or eat, apart from half a bottle of drink we brought with us.

We left at 4.00 pm and got home at 10.30 pm.

A very unpleasant experience of the Clinic. The treatment and staff in the treatment area were very nice.

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback.

Although I would assure you that we are constantly finding new ways to keep waiting times to a minimum, I am very sorry for the waiting time you have described.

Our expectation is this circumstance is for our client to be kept informed and updated so I can assure you that your feedback will be shared with the relevant Manager for consideration.

Kind regards, Pam Field, BPAS Client Engagement Manager (email: clientservices@bpas.org).
