My mum was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease 4 years ago. It was devastating; she went from this wonderful woman who kept herself perfect to this poor little soul who cannot remember her own home.
Last year we almost lost her to sepsis. I hated the ward she was in when she was left alone she was hanging out of the chair when we came back she was supposed to have Physio to get her back on her feet but that lasted about 60 seconds a day.
But the reason I am telling our story is to praise the dementia crisis care community team in the forth valley region. They are brilliant! I just need to phone and someone is always there to help it’s comforting to have this team to hand as I am not an expert on Alzheimer’s they come out as soon as they can most times it’s the same day.
I just want to say thanks. I know most people are complaining but it’s nice when a service works as well as this one does.
