I went to the urgent care centre because I accidentally trapped my finger in my car door. There was a lot of pain and pressure under my finger nail due to the hematoma. I went to enquire if I needed the pressure released by having a needle put through my finger nail.
The nurse practitioner came across rude unfriendly and very blunt. When I was shown into her room I accidentally sat in her chair and she said in a sarcastic tone of voice are you going to be doing the assessment. She made no effort to make me feel at ease and I actually felt like She was annoyed I was there as if I was an inconvenience. The sad thing is she only actually changed her mannerism towards me when I told her that I’m a nurse.
This was my first time using the Oadby walk in centre and I recall being the only person in the waiting room. I’ve not been a patient in A&E for many many years and very rarely see my Gp so I’m rarely a patient but on this occasion when I was in pain and needed to be one I was very disappointed.
