"Contacting the unit is a nightmare"

About: Royal Hallamshire Hospital / Ophthalmology

Not had the opportunity to visit the unit yet - I am still waiting for my assessment appointment.

Originally given a time of 4-6 weeks, then 10 weeks then 11-12 weeks and I have just noticed that this website is saying that 9 out of 10 people are seen within 13 weeks.

My original eye test was on 22nd May and it is now 18th September and I have still not been assessed by this unit.

I have been given a phone number to contact the unit however I haven't managed to speak to anyone yet.

I have left several answerphone messages together with my contact details - but nobody bothers to get back in touch.

The unit may have state-of-the-art equipment but patient care seems to be somewhat lacking.

Seriously considering referral to another unit.
