It started with my old gp not listening to me when I told him not healed after wigan a+e said I had broke 2 toes, eventually a locum looked and sent me to a specialist at wrightington where I found out I had not only broken 2 toes but bones in my foot too.
I have lost a complete metatarsal in my foot now, had numerous tests, then a "urgent" (that's what my specialist called it) biopsy, I was not informed what it for, what maybe wrong, I was called numerous times during the day whilst at work twice of which they expected me to be able to just drop work and go in the day after. I understand it was labelled as urgent but I still work.
I have waited nearly a year to finally be able to get the results, have made countless calls over the last 7 months regarding it. On Thursday I finally managed to get straight through to my specialist's secretary and am booked in for this this week. Rushed the appointment through much? I am however glad of this, but I think this was an oversight.
Also at wrightington I was told to go in at 6:30 am for my biopsy, for which I had to get a taxi as there was no public transport so early in the morning, it was 2:30 pm before I was actually taken to theatre, I was left waiting in the ward from 6:15am (time of my arrival) until then.
I feel very let down by the local health care.
