"My wife felt the GP she saw was creepy"

About: Westminster PCT

(as a relative),

My wife went to one of our local GPs to get a referral letter to see an osteopath.

The doctor asked what I feel are inappropriate and I think unrelated questions about our sex life: whether we slept in the same bed, practised sexual intercourse etc.

The doctor concluded by saying that although she had given birth we were still married (ie should still have sexual intercourse) and when she said that we did indeed have intercourse but it was a little painful, the doctor asked whether she would like them to examine her. A question more appropriate perhaps coming from a gynaecologist.

Having had some experience of referral letters, I would say that the letter my wife was given was ineffectual: the doctor concludes by saying that they did not examine her specifically.
