Can't praise the paramedic team, doctors and nurses enough for their treatment of my son then aged 9 when he broke both bones in his forearm last summer.
Everyone dealt with him appropriately as well as myself and my husband.
Paramedics and nurses were great at keeping us informed of what was going to happen and (hopefully) when.
Doctors gave us clear information about his injury and how it was going to be treated.
He required surgery the next morning which, though scary for him (and us!) was explained in full, the surgery team made him feel comfortable and explained what was going to happen in a way that he understood.
We were home later that day and attended fracture clinics every few weeks (which were very busy so expected a wait) and a further surgery 14 weeks later to remove the pin holding the bones in place whilst they healed.
Again, carried out whilst ensuring we were kept informed.
Special mention of the facilities available to parents on the children's ward.
I had a comfortable sofabed for the night and tea / coffee / biscuits from a small kitchen which are donated by parents for the comfort of those having to be there.
