"Aweful experience , scared to return but have no..."

About: Croydon University Hospital

What I liked

I liked the fact that it was clean. Other than this there was nothing. I honestly had 2 nurses that were polite. Neither of these were helpful just polite. The nicest people in the hospital were the food staff and cleaners.

What could be improved

I feel either a general understading of whom a patient is would not go amis.

I was constantly told I was a different patient and consiquently had to check the medication given to me before taking it. I found this quite woring for an antenatal ward, full of pregnant women.

Both consultants and nurses gave conflicting views on plans of care from hour to hour. Presdures where started for care and never finished as consultants changed shifts and conflicted each others actions.

In perticular given steriods to strengthen a premature babies lungs in the womb. Being admited for induced labour and then the next day being discharged by a diffferent consultant with a view to wait check in a few day and get a ne date for induction though I was told the baby was in distress and needed to come out asap.

This is always comforting for a first time mum.

Anything else?

I feel it may help, if thyey are able to answer questions given instead of only answering the ones they know the answer too. If you don't know you can go away and find out and come back. No one would look at you any less for getting infomation else where we don't all know everythig.

Being honest with a patient and following through on them or explain why they no longer wish take that action.

You gave patients no choice or understaning of there treatment. Discharged 3 ladies at the same time and left the drips in our hands. We had to come and ask for them to be removed , ( very sloopy work).
