(as the patient),

I contracted MRSA at Bedford Hospital after an operation last summer.

This site is a waste of space. Probably because it is vetted by the hospital.

Can give a lot more stories about treatment over the years if I thought for one second it would make any difference.

Thanks for posting on Patient Opinion. I'm really sorry to hear about the MRSA infection - I hope you are OK now.

I just wanted to respond to your suspicion that Patient Opinion might be "vetted by the hospital" and reassure you that this is not the case. Patient Opinion is not part of the NHS, but is run as a non-profit social enterprise. We have a clear moderation policy which you can read on this site, and that governs what we publish. We have to take a view about what is legal and ethical to publish, and subject to that, we publish everything that we can.

We can't guarantee that your feedback will make a difference. You will have to judge for yourself whether other people's stories have made a difference or not. Personally, I believe that very many have led to worthwhile changes in care, in understanding, and in policy too.
