"School parents abuse of GP parking"

About: Outwood Park Medical Centre

It has been noted by this GP practice that parents who drive their children to school and pick them up think it’s ok to use this car park. I’m disabled but I wouldn’t dream of using this car park because kids no longer have legs it would seem?! One idiotic event was the driver who parked in the entrance to this car park face like he was leaving but he was sat texting waiting - I sat there for a little while waiting for him to leave but when I realised he wad parked I blasted my horn and signalled for him to move but he totally ignored everyone who couldn’t get in or out of the car park. They are simply taking the micky out of the kindness of this GP practice to abuse it for there own needs. Just don’t think it’s good practice and if will result in parking disappearing if this issue isn’t resolved.

Dear patient

thank you for taking the time to leave feedback regarding the parking at the medical centre.

We are aware that on occasions the car park is used by others not attending as patients but we are reliant on visitors to the practice respecting the fact that we are a medical practice and acting appropriately.

There is signage to say the car park is for visitors, patients and staff, but we are unable to police the car park.

The practice have no plans to remove any parking facilities, which I hope reassures you.

Thank you once again for making your comments.

James Day

Practice Manager
