"Blood service"

About: Thomas Linacre Outpatient Centre

Had to get bloods taken, used the service as it's a walk in service, thankfully did not have to wait to long. However I was very concerned that the nurse who took my blood did not wear gloves or even wash/clean her hands afterwards. I also noticed the small sink was dry and appeared to have not been used prior to my bloods being taken.surely this is an infection control issue and should be addressed. I will not be using this service again.

I have now had the opportunity to discuss your posting with the Head of Nursing who has advised that Infection Control and Prevention should be undertaken for each and every patient interaction. She has since requested the Infection Control team to send out a message to all Out Patient Managers to ensure Infection Control Prevention is maintained in clinics and asked the Phlebotomy Manager to highlight to her teams.
