"Drastic & Fundamental Improvement Required!"

About: Royal Stoke University Hospital

Admitted to resuscitation, where a film crew had just invaded the department! Left the ward when the alarms kept sounding but very little attention was paid to me whilst I was wired up to them. No follow up and no- one has contacted me since I was discharged. It is not surprising the hospital is in debt to the tune of millions of pounds when I have already cost it a substantial amount as I had to be re-admitted due to no fault of my own.

Without doubt it must be the most disorganised place on the planet. Doctors and management need to re-evaluate why it is such a disaster regarding follow up care of and allocation of appointments, particularly to those regarding specialist attention.

No wonder your reputation leaves so much to be desired, notwithstanding film crews and new uniforms!

I am so sorry to read your comments regarding your poor experience of our hospital. I will ensure your feedback is shared with the Emergency Department Management Team.

As a Trust, all feedback is valued whether positive or not, so we can learn and improve. I would be very grateful if you could contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Team (PALS) to provide additional information and allow us to further investigate the issues you've raised. PALS will also be able to support with any outstanding follow-up appointments you may be expecting. PALS can be contacted on 01782 676450 or via email to patientadvice.uhnm@nhs.net.

With kindest regards

Rebecca Pilling, Quality Improvement Facilitator: Patient Experience.
