I first came to the clinic and had a scan at 9 weeks pregnant. I had an appointment for the following week to have the surgical abortion. I was in the waiting room for about an hour then signed the consent forms. I was then sent back into the waiting room, after a while I was unsure wether or not I was making the right decision, so I left. The staff were all very understanding and supportive! A few weeks later I had decided that it was the right choice for me. So I had another appointment, I was around 15-16 weeks pregnant. When I got the the clinic I had another scan, then sat in the waiting room for about an hour, signed the consent forms, then sat back in the waiting room for another 30 mins. I was introduced to the staff that would be taking care of me, and introduced to the surgeons. While in the treatment room I was given tablets to soften my cervix and had to wait 3 hours for those to work. I then had surgery. Was supposed to be in there for about 20-30 mins. Ended up being 45-1hr, due to heavy bleeding. After surgery the staff monitored me carefully and frequently. (Which I’m thankful for!) as I was nervous about that amount of blood I was losing. I stayed at the clinic for around an hour and a half after surgery, then was allowed to go home. All staff at the clinic are approachable so I didn’t feel uncomfortable asking questions. They were very understanding and reassuring!!
