"Asthma Review asnwerphone message"

About: Trinity Medical Centre

Suffered from asthma for 30+ years after recently using more medication than usual due to a recent chest cold, I booked my repeat prescription earlier than usual and later received an answerphone message from trinity medical centre from a non medical professional (caller didnt give a name or medical title and so I assume admin of some kind) which implied if I didn't call to book an asthma review they may block my asthma prescription.

The tone of the message was very unhelpful and I immediately contacted the pharmacist who confirmed my recent prescription is being processed with no issues. So the threat to withdraw my medication was a veiled one. I am certain that the individual who left the message simply didn't consider the threatening tone of the message left which unto itself implies they do not care for my health/wellbeing.

Thank you for your comments. We have strict policy on issuing medication when reviews are due or overdue and this is possibly why the message was left as advice rather than a threat. We apologise if you do feel this was left in an inappropriate tone. If you would like to contact the surgery to discuss further please email trinity.medicalcentre@nhs.net

Kind Regards

Trinity Medical Centre
