Yesterday I was admitted to Ward 209 for my Hysteroscopy and Biopsy procedure. I had decided to have a general anesthetic because I know how nervous I get and would have probably wasted everybody's time by panicking during the procedure etc.
On arrival at Ward 209, I was welcomed with a lovely smile and everyone was so friendly. All the staff who took me through the process were very informative and thorough, explaining what was going to happen and why.
I met my consultant, who took time to explain what would be done and checked all my details.
The time taken to do this was so much appreciated as it helped to calm me down.
There was a long wait (3.5 hours) before I was taken down to theatre by which time I was very stressed, but the staff waiting for me were fantastic and it wasn't long before I was totally happy and relaxed again while being checked over and prepped for the anesthetic.
The whole team, including the porter who took me to theatre made me fell important and not just another patient on the list!
All went very well and today I only have a little bit of discomfort as expected and I know that by tomorrow I will be back to my normal self.
All that I can say is that my experience on Ward 209 was just the best.
Everyone was so professional and I was treated as an individual with excellent bedside manner and kindness. A big THANK YOU to everyone.
