"Excellent"

About: Stepping Hill Hospital

What I liked

My son was recently admitted to Rainforest ward via A and E.

He had an operation to remove his appendix and a meckles diverticulum.

Every single member of staff from auxiliary up to consultant level who we had contact with was magnificent.

My son had excellent care and he is now at home recuperating from his operation.

The consultant was exceptional with my son and for a Doctor of his level to engage with my son with such care and understanding was wonderful. He really communicated with my 11 year old son on his level to keep him updated on all that happened to him. He never laughed at some of the very silly questions my son asked and offered him clear, concise answers to his questions which made stress for my son minimal.

Every single member of the nursing team on Rainforest that dealt with my son is a credit to Stepping Hill. They never stopped caring for my son but were also great with my husband and I who were both very upset by the circumstances we were in. The staff were outstanding. There is not a thank you big enough to give to them.

People are very quick to complain these days and I want to say that I watched staff at this hospital deal professionally with foul mouthed parents of children who were unbelievably rude and unreasonable. They worked long hours and were very busy but I never heard one member of staff moan once.

Most of all they made my son better. Again to all the staff there is not a thank you big enough ....

What could be improved

nothing
