"Heart Procedure - Golden Jubille National Hospital"

About: Golden Jubilee National Hospital / Interventional Cardiology University Hospital Ayr / Cardiology

(as a relative),

My mum, has Aortic Stenosis she was originally a patient of Ayr Hospital.   They referred her to the Golden Jubilee.   She has seen a few Cardiac Consultants, all of whom agree she is too high risk for Open Heart Surgery.   She was referred to Dr. Lindsay for consideration of a TAVI operation.   Due to mum's other heart problems (the Stenosis is not the only issue) Dr. Lindsay wanted to make sure the TAVI operation would improve her quality of life, before commencing with TAVI.

Early in September mum had a procedure in the Golden Jubilee Hospital which widened her heart valve, by monitoring the effects of this, will determine if a TAVI operation would be appropriate.   The level of care received in the hospital was second to none.   The staff of Ward 2C and the day surgery unit were amazing, putting mum's needs first at all times, when the demands on the NHS resources are at their highest.

A huge thank you to the amazing Dr. Lindsay and his team who performed the procedure, for taking great care of mum and making sure she returned to us safely.   Mum may have a longer journey ahead, but the stress of this is made more manageable knowing she will be in the care of the Golden Jubilee staff.   Thank you

Dear doradotm94

Thank you for taking the time to post onto the Care Opinion website regarding your mum’s recent procedure and care with us. It is lovely to read your post regarding the care she received. The staff work very hard to deliver the highest quality of care to patients and visitors and they will be delighted to read your lovely compliments. I will be sure to pass this onto them.

If you wish to provide your mum’s name and date of birth to allow me to share this with the team, please contact me on feedback@gjnh.scot.nhs.uk or 0141 951 5951.

Regards
