My son was taken into A&E at NHS Borders following a fall in the rugby pitch at school. My son was seen very quickly. Within 15 minutes of arriving in the department we were in the radiology department getting an x-ray. My son was a little nervous but both the porter transferring him to radiology and the radiologist reassured him. It was found that he had broken his ankle. The doctor that saw him was very nice and spoke to my son so he understood what had happened, no medical jargon which was great. Unfortunately a week later my son was in a great deal of pain and required to see the out of hours doctor. The doctor was fantastic. My son was very sore and crying which, as a teenager, he was embarrassed about but the doctor (emily) was great at making him feel comfortable, and speak to him on his level and actually making him laugh through his pain all whilst checking he had not further damaged his ankle. The service he received throughout his time receiving care has been exceptional. As a parent it gives me great confidence that NHS Borders can provide efficient and great care for my child.
"My son received excellent care and after care"
