I sustained a nasty left wrist fracture in late February this year, I slipped on the snow walking to work. I received 1st class treatment in Accident and Emergency although the poor staff that treated me had been on all night, and with the snow being as bad as it was, they were still there at 10am well over their working hours, but they all remained cheerful, and caring.
After several hours I was transferred to Neustadt Welton ward awaiting to go to theatre. Again I was treated with respect and kindness from all the staff. The following morning I went to theatre for the operation to fix my badly broken wrist, this was carried out by the Orthopaedic Consultant.
I have nothing but praise and gratitude towards him, and will be eternally grateful for his expertise in putting me back together, more so as I was so worried as I am left hand dominate, and I wouldn't get full movement back in my wrist.
Every fracture clinic appointment I attended I saw this same Consultant, and even when I didn't have an appointment, and was worried I rang and he saw me, even though sometimes he wasn't even doing his clinic. All the staff in Fracture clinic were lovely and very kind and sympathetic towards me.
A big thank you also to Sam in Physio for the painstaking exercises she performed on me and to Claire in OT ( hand class ) for all her help and advise too.
I am full of praise for all the staff at Lincoln County Hospital who looked after me throughout my injury. I am now back at work and everyone who has seen my wrist has said what a marvellous job has been done on it.
