"Staff are uncaring"

About: Addenbrooke's Hospital

My son was transferred from intensive care (NICU) to Charles Wolfson ward the first hour being on this ward the healthcare assistant was rude made me feel like I did not know how look after my son, I was anxious as I was first time mum after expressing this the staff informed safe garding, I was not told and next day had a safe garding staff member in my room to discus my mental health from the past witch I was shocked they been through my medical record without consent

Inside of listing to my concerns of my son's wellbeing and support of his medical condition, this what they decided to do as the birth had not been an easy one and my son having go to intensive due to complications, would not recommend this hospital at all for maternity care and avoid Charles Wolfson court ward at all cost.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience of care provided by staff on the Charles Wolfson Ward.

I am very sorry to learn that you have concerns about the care provided to you and your baby son, and the attitude of a staff member. We would like to be able to look into your concerns and respond to you personally: please contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 01223 216756 or email pals@addenbrookes.nhs.uk so that we are able to obtain some further details from you. In the meantime, the staff have been made aware of your comments.

Once again, I am sorry that the service did not meet your expectations.

Kind regards

Head of Patient Experience
