Thorough preliminary examination ; special time taken to talk to my husband about his condition and his treatment. On admission exceptional care by all the staff. The consultant saved his life as he was reluctant to accept the treatment, and she took great care to explain what was happening. Now he is thriving.
Whenever I attended this hospital over the last 30 years, I always received the best possible care.
Very astute clinicians discovered a respiratory problem of which I was unaware as referral was to another department!
A great friend with a motor neuron condition had his life prolonged as on admission to the A&E, the clinician gave a very thorough examination, the results showing a cortisone deficiency which gave my friend 2 extra good 'quality of life' years.
My last experience was in May 2018 with the A&E- the first time I attended this department and all aspects of examination, scans and tests and follow-up treatment were wonderful- truly excellent.
