"Ear wax removal"

I am a long term patient of the practice and have recently been fitted with hearing aids by the Audiology Service. The hearing aids are not effective because I have ear wax blocking both my ears. This seriously impacts my ability to hear things and makes me feel miserable.The Audiology service tell me that it is my doctor’s responsibility to provide an ear wax removal service. On visiting the practice I was told that I can only have this done privately at a cost of £60. I am absolutely disgusted that after a lifetime paying towards the nhs that I am obliged to pay for services. Generally I get excellent service from the practice but this has really impacted on my opinion of the services provided. Those who need this service are usually older people who do not have the spare financial resources to afford it. I feel very let down.
