"Patient transport cancelled at the last moment"

(as a relative),

Yet again my dad's patient transport is cancelled at the last moment.  He had booked the transport 3 weeks before and it was all arranged. The day before, he gets a call to say they can't take him and they tell him to phone Ayr hospital to say he's not going.

This delays his treatment and wastes a valuable appointment and doctors time, also delaying care he needs,  I work full time, dad has a leg amputated and other health issues. Why take a booking and cancel the day before?

I was sorry to read about the problems that your dad has had with his transport. It must be very frustrating for him and his family to not to be able to get to his appointments.
