"Visit on Saturday morning"

About: Rochdale Infirmary / Accident and emergency

I had to visit on Saturday morning with my 19 year old son who had apparently been there the night before after being punched in the eye.

Unfortunately he didn’t remember anything about being there and was rather confused due to being concussed. He was anxious and rather difficult.

We were treated with the utmost respect from the moment we arrived, had an X-ray, saw a very helpful and patient doctor, saw a lovely student nurse from Salford and then transferred by ambulance to Oldham for a ct scan.

My son looked like a troubled teenager instead of the well educated young man that he is but that didn’t make any difference.

The doctor took pains to explain to him what had happened and what would happen next even though he couldn’t really take it in. Praise for the the paramedics too that jollied him along. The rest of the hospital looked quiet but all looked spotlessly clean.

Thank you so much for your patience

Thank you for your comments. It is pleasing to know that you and your son have felt fully involved in the care provided, and that the staff have done their utmost to personalise his care.
