"Why bother?"

About: Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust

Recently one night I visited the Crisis Pad at St Andrews Place, St Georges Road, Hull. I was in a really desperate state. I felt at my wit's end and seriously thought about topping myself. I pressed the buzzer at the entrance. A man sitting in reception answered. He was very uncaring. When I told him how desperate I felt and that I wanted to kill myself, he told me to go to the Royal Infirmary A&E. He didn't seem to give a damn. He refused to open the door and let me in. He told me to "go away and get a life." If this is how he Crisis Pad treats people in distress then it's no wonder their crisis services were judged to be failing by the CQC. They certainly failed when it came to me.
