A few weeks ago I had an INR appointment. Whilst sitting in the waiting room, I met a neighbour. When it was my turn for the test, my name appeared on the screen along with information that I was attending the INR clinic. When I next met my neighbour a few days later, they expressed concern about my "heart condition" and asked if I was okay. In order not to appear rude, I felt that I had to give them an explanation as to why I was taking warfarin.
I am not aware of any other clinic in the practice being publicized e.g. asthma, diabetes, sexual health etc. - presumably to protect patient confidentiality - and I wondered why the INR clinic appears to be the exception.
Would the practice manager consider removing this information from the public screen?
Thank you.
