"NO FLOWERS OR GIFTS OF ANY SORT ACCEPTED AT..."

I have never been a patient of the RFH, but when a friend of mine fell seriously ill, I arranged to have some flowers sent by Interflora, However, following my order I was rung at home by the florist and was told that the hospital never accepted gifts of flowers or indeed gifts of any sort. I said that's OK I am not sending gifts to the RFH but to a patient in a ward. No I had misunderstood - the hospital does not accept gifts or flowers on behalf of the patients.

Well pardon me, but I think that is awfully mean, nor is it a nationwide policy. So zero out of 10 marks for that RFH.
