"Excellent care in a&e"

About: Poole General Hospital / Accident and emergency

I was sent to a&e by my GP this week as I have been suffering from hyperemesis and my condition had deteriorated. Initially he contacted the early pregnancy unit but they were full so I was advised to go to a&e. I was triaged within about 20 minutes, and taken straight through to a room. I was seen almost immediately and stayed in for around four hours, with regular checks. Everyone I saw was friendly and kept me well informed. I can’t fault anything.

Well done Poole as the waiting room was full and staff were managing some tricky situations.

Thank you so much for taking the time and trouble to post your very kind comments, especially at a time when I'm sure you are not feeling at your best.

I have passed your message on to the staff in the Emergency Department.

Comments such as yours go a long way to keeping spirits up when the staff are faced with high numbers of patients and the daily challenges that they can bring.

I hope very much that your hyperemesis resolves very soon and that your pregnancy continues without any further unpleasant symptoms.

Thank you again for posting your comments.

All very best wishes,

The Patient Experience Team, Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
