"This surgery has been on the decline for many..."

About: The Cornerstone Practice

I have been with this surgery since I was a child and when I married and had children I registered all of my family. It was a wonderful surgery in the days of the previous doctor but unfortunately started to decline when she left. First off you can never get through to book an appointment and when you do get through your faced with very obstructive receptionists.

If your lucky enough to see a gp your rushed to discuss your issue and made to feel like it’s all in your head, I went a some years ago for an ear complaint, I was told it was nothing but wax, I continued to visit the gp for about 8 months with the same problem and was met with a “stop moaning attitude” finally after months of visiting I was reluctantly referred to ENT, it was soon discovered at ENT that I had been suffering from a middle ear infection that had gone untreated and now I needed a mastoidecomy surgery.

I understood people make mistakes and remained with the surgery.

This year my husband went to the surgery with chest pain, he was told that it was probably acid and was given anti acid medication, my husband explained his family history of heart problems and the gp said “well you can go to A&E but you don’t look like someone who is having a heart attack to me”

My husband left and felt a little stupid for over reacting to his pain, 2 days later the pain had become much worse so he decided to visit A&E, my husband was and had been having heart attacks and then spent the next 4 weeks in hospital awaiting a heart bypass. I phoned the surgery to express my concerns and as yet my husband hasn’t had a single word of apology. I have now removed myself, husband and children from this surgery.

Lessons need to learnt as this surgery and it appears they aren’t.
