"Treated like a 2nd class citizen drunk fighting..."

About: Royal Bolton Hospital / Accident and emergency

My mum drove me to a&e after my handbrake on my own car coming loose and my car wheel tripping my foot underneath. I had to be carried through the hospital car park as there were no paramedics around. We were ignored at reception for around 10 minutes before being asked a million questions regarding my GP (I have recently moved to Bolton) The receptionist then continued to ask colleagues if she’s could change my details which she already knew she couldn’t but was generally just being rude. She never asked what had happened just ‘where on my body was injured’ and ‘if it happened at home’ (I don’t understand how any of these questions are relevant considering i wasn’t given the time to explain my injury or where it happened how was my position in the triage waiting area decided) I was then being asked to WALK over to triage by the same receptionist who watched my mum carry me into the a&e department to which I burst into tears unable to put weight on my foot and another member of staff went to get me a wheelchair. I was seen by triage very quickly and the nurse expressed her concern of my foot and was astounded I hadn’t been brought in via ambulance so an X-ray was taken. I was then left to wait for FIVE HOURS to find out the results that I had fractured my toes and a deep wound on my foot. I was given NO pain relief, my wound was cleaned but not glued and my toes were strapped together with medical tape, nothing else! I was given NO crutches and told to rest. ALL of which I could of done at home rather than waste time in a&e getting pushed further and further behind in the queue due to drunken fighting being a clear priority of the hospital!!! You aren't allowed to leave the hospital without the police being called so I was then trapped for FIVE HOURS! I still cannot walk on my foot and have had to borrow crutches from a friend to get my children to school as I cannot drive and I also have a 9 week old baby! The treatment here is disgusting I will never ever go back and I'm glad I delivered my son at North Manchester General Hospital and will return there in future!!!
