"Feeling abandoned with my bulimia"

About: April House

(as the patient),

After I was refered by my doctor around 9 months ago I started phone counsultation with " iTalk" during which time I agreed to go to April House for an assessment.

That was approx 5-6 mths ago. I was diagnosed as having bulimea & put on a waiting list. As I was seen to be about to get help I was discharged from my counsellor at "iTalk". Unfortunately my treatment with April House has yet to start.

I am still waiting in the dark & alone, no-one ever gets in touch & I feel like I've been forgotten. Even if they ever remember me it's so far away I don't know how they can help! I've put on more weight & tried various different meds to counteract my bingeing.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback and concerns regarding the service you have received from both April House and iTalk.

I am sorry that you have been left feeling abandoned and alone and can assure you that this is certainly not how we want our patients to feel. I have passed your concerns on to the Team Manager to provide a response and expect this back shortly.

In the meantime should you wish to discuss this directly, then please do not hesitate to contact me on 01590 663000.

Kind regards

Having spoken with the Team at April House, they have asked me to offer their sincere apologies for the amount of time you have been waiting for an assessment to take place.

They have asked that you call the team directly on 02380 81900 to discuss this further as there are no specific details to identify you and make contact from you post.

Thank you again for taking the time to highlight your concerns, as it provides us with an opportunity to improve upon the services that we offer to our patients.

Kind regards
