I had a debilitating episode of vertigo which confined me to bed for a few days. When my sister came to see me she insisted on calling the ambulance service for advice as she said I looked so ill and was clearly unable to take care of myself with such severe dizziness.
Graham and Richard, paramedics who were sent to my home to check me out were absolutely amazing. They were so very kind and courteous, one they had assessed me they felt that I needed to be checked more thoroughly at the hospital and took me to the RD&E. Here I was taken straight to the acute medical admissions unit.
I cannot thank the staff enough for their kindness and care, Dr Evans and Dr Hope were fantastic. So too were the nurses Kelly, Danielle, Luca, Jaime, Kelly in the x-ray unit, Guy and Chris.
I was kept in overnight, they needed to check how I was throughout the night, waking me up very sweetly and gently.
I was not the only one treated with such kindness, the lady in the bed opposite me was confused and kept wandering around. The nurses very gently ushered her back to bed, this happened all the time, I never saw any sign of frustration even though they must have been very tired working through the night.
"Kindness and care"
