Went in today for a procedure, reception staff were great and very friendly! Theatre staff were great and also nurse straight after was fabulous! The Nurse checking me in and aftercare was very unprofessional and disinterested, had been fasting for 24hrs and wasn’t even offered a drink, I work for the NHS myself and was embarrassed as I wouldn’t dream of treating any of my patients like that, my cannula was literally ripped out which hurt me and then when my family member arrived to pick me up they didn’t even bother to tell me, wouldn’t recommend this hospital to anyone! I have left feeling upset and embarrassed.

I am very sorry to hear of your care and aftercare during your treatment with Oaklands Hospital. Every member of the team has a responsibility to ensure the patient is treated as an individual and with dignity and respect. I can only apologise that a member of the team didnt do this. We do review the comments from patients and we do share feedback to the relevant teams to ensure we learn from individual experiences so that where standards fall below expectation we learn from it.
