"Avoid at all costs"

About: Birmingham Midland Eye Centre (Bmec)

This is easily one of the worst hospitals I have ever been to.

For over a year now I have had reoccurring eye problems. The hospital is clearly poorly managed as it is impossible to get a follow up appointment. This is the second time this has happened, despite my complaints only a year ago.

After a year of problems, not one of the many doctors I have seen here have even been able to give me a cause to the issue let alone a treatment that works. Not that I can explain this to anyone of course, as anytime I try to book an appointment I have the phone put down on me.

Apparently my only option is to sit in their A&E for 4 hours on a Saturday now.

I will be making further complaints now as it is quite clear that this hospital does NOT act on patient feedback.

Dear Jessica, I am sorry that your feedback has not been acted on and about the difficulties you have experienced when trying to book appointments. This is not the kind of service that we aim to offer, and as such I would like your experience to be investigated further. In order to resolve this issue quickly, would you please contact Laura Young, Directorate Lead Nurse at the Birmingham and Midland Eye Centre, so that she can look into what has happened? She can be reached by email at laura.young4@nhs.net. Kind regards, Raffaela Goodby – Director of People and Organisation Development.
