I was admitted at the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy in the day surgery ward to get wisdom teeth removed. From the moment I arrived I felt at ease, all staff members were cheery & helpful! Making jokes with all patients to make the experience more pleasant. I’d never been in hospital before and never undergone any surgery so was pretty nervous! The staff were amazing at reassuring me, when it came to going into surgery I met the surgeon team! They were all happy and really chatty with me asking about my life and distracting me from what was going on.
The next thing I remember is waking up in the recovery lounge with another nurse! As I woke she must have noticed I was cold and placed a warm blanket over me. After this I was a little confused but so happy to see Craig the head nurse from the ward I had been on previously. It was reassuring to see a happy and familiar face! I then spent the next few hours in a bit of a dream getting checked up on every twenty minutes. I was given some custard to eat and allowed some water to drink. I then was told I could leave in a couple of hours, as my phone had died they contacted my mum to arrange this. Overall my whole experience was outstanding, I felt so comfortable the whole time! The staff could not have done anything more!
