My mum was admitted urgently to the Victoria Hospital after a fall while she was feeding her dogs. Her legs gave way as a result of a stroke, the paramedics who tended to her were excellent. I know one was called Dave, he called me to tell me they had been called out to my Mum and made sure I knew she was in good hands and on her way to the hospital. As I live quite a long way from my mum whilst it was a scary shock that mum had had a stroke it was reassuring to hear from Dave that she was being cared for.
At the hospital she was taken straight to ITU where she was looked after extremely well for several days. Mum was then moved to a high dependency stroke ward where she is still being looked after by the CN Tracy and SNs Jillian, Amanda and Mike. They have taken great care of my mum, and are always ready to give me an update on my mum's condition whenever I call.
Whatever the hospital's policy is on visiting I'm very grateful that they allowed me to see my mum late in the evening as soon as I was able to get to Kirkcaldy with the earliest flight options available to me. All the staff are angels, I am so grateful to them for looking after my mum.
