"Not helpful and disrespectful."

I called and called for an appointment and after 25 minutes of being on hold I finally managed to make an appointment, I never usually have to specify why I need the appointment but the receptionist replied with ‘I can’t book you in unless you tell me why’. I replied that I didn’t want to specify my needs as I wanted to speak face to face with my doctor about the irregular periods I am suffering with from my implant and I needed advice about what was happening with my body. Then, after calling my family and panicking them about needing to speak to me as a matter of urgency, I then received a phone call back saying that they simply don’t ‘deal’ with sexual health issues. I tried to explain my situation and was told I would have to go elsewhere when I have always been to townhead to discuss my implant and to have it put in and removed. I was told to go somewhere in skipton which is a sexual health clinic. Which I didn’t need, and from which there was no answer and I spent another 20 minutes on hold. I needed advice from a doctor in a normal practice but was turned away. I have been with townhead surgery for 15 years and never once had a problem with seeing a doctor about my periods and contraception.this was a simple situation that they have dramatised and completely dismissed. And calling my family and worrying them before trying to contact myself was utterly disrespectful.
